-WHEN- Starting March 1st
-DETAILS- Fire season starts March 1st. Fire permits will be required for any burning in the Forest Protection Area (excluding campfires). Visit burn sites to ensure the fires have been completely extinguished. You can get a free fire permit by contacting your local Agriculture and Forestry office. Go to firepermits.alberta.ca or call toll free 310 - 0000 for any more information.

-WHAT- Altogether Shred Invasion
-WHERE- Allan & Jean MILLER Centre
-WHEN- Saturday April 22nd 11am - 3pm
-DETAILS- Do you have documents that need to be securely disposed of?  Concerned about your privacy? Altogether Shredding Services is a local mobile shredding company that is partnering with the Town of Whitecourt to provide the secure shredding of your household's personal documents for free.  Shredding sensitive documents is one way to reduce your risk of becoming the victim of identity theft. There will also be a BBQ on site as well.

-DETAILS- Entertainment by the Highland Dancers @ 3:30 pm to approximately 4:30 pm. Introduction of Special Guests About 5 pm. Refreshments and Cake Cutting. Free to attend and everyone is welcome.

-WHEN- Thursday April 27th 6:00pm
-DETAILS- All teens in Whitecourt and area are invited to come and watch ‘Dr. Strange’ at the library. Popcorn and refreshments provided. Free to attend.


-WHAT- N.O.W. (Night Out In Whitecourt)
-WHERE- Waters Edge Pub at the Quality Inn
-WHEN- Friday April 28 7pm - 9pm
-DETAILS- The Town of Whitecourt organizes community events for adults once a month.  The purpose of these events is to bring people together so that you can get to know your neighbours and welcome new ones while having a fun night out.  They are free, fun and for everyone so come and enjoy a Night Out in Whitecourt with us. Must be 18 or over.

Billiards Night with the Whitecourt Pool League

The Whitecourt Pool League will be on hand to show you the ropes and maybe even organize a fun tournament.  New and experienced players are welcome.

-DETAILS- Everyone is welcome to join in. Check out the fun and FREE activities. The inflatable obstacle course will be up and ready to go for all Community Fun Nights. This month’s theme is ‘Flower Power’. Spring is here and there will be a hippie themed evening of crafts and activities

-WHAT- 11th Annual Party In The Park

-WHEN- June 16 & 17
-DETAILS- Things are being changing things up this year and Party In The Park  will be in June. Kickstart your summer at Rotary Park. Great music, food, entertainment and lots of family fun. The Watchmen will be headlining in the stage on Saturday June 17. FREE to attend.  More details will be posted closer to the event date.

-DETAILS- Taking the important step in your life to become a Volunteer Firefighter with Lac Ste. Anne County Fire Services means choosing a path that is both highly challenging and exceptionally rewarding. As a Volunteer Firefighter, the County will provide you with all the training necessary to meet requirements as per the National Fire Protection Association Standards. -DETAILS – Lots of stuff for the kids to do after school every week & on weekends! Magic the Gathering card tournaments on Saturdays at 5pm, Duel Academy lessons on Tuesdays at 4 & a neat art class with Brydon starting at 4pm every Thursday! -DETAILS – They have a pool table, video games (PS3, Wii), foosball & air hockey tables, & lots of space to eat or just hang out. Open from 12:30 to 1:15 & 3:30 to 8pm (Mon to Thurs) & till 9pm on Fridays. Dial-A-Bus runs from the Percy Baxter after school on Tuesday to Thursday. The girls club runs once a month, so pick up an activity calendar at any school to find out more. Find the Whitecourt Teencentre on FB too! BULLY FREE ZONE

-WHAT- Tennille’s Hope Soup Kitchen
-WHERE- Downtown Whitecourt - next to Caine’s Jewellers
-WHEN- Wednesdays & Fridays from 11:30 AM- 1:30 PM for lunch

-WHAT- FREE Tutoring Program
-WHERE- Located at the NorQuest College facility 4739-50th Ave WC
-WHEN- Tues 1-4:30pm, Thurs 8:30am-Noon Or by appointment
-DETAILS- Whitecourt/Lac Ste. Anne Adult Learning offers free one-on-one tutoring program for adults, to help improve skills like reading/writing, english language skills, math, basic computer skills and work towards General Education Diploma.
